The Caboolture Historical Village Phone

Village Weddings - Your Special Day

Q: When can I collect the keys for the venue I am hiring?
A: You can collect the keys for the Hall from the Office on either the day before or the day of your booking and use them for the duration of your booking. These keys will fit a number of locks in the Hall area. These keys are your responsibility and a replacement will cost $50.

Q: I have a number of people delivering things during the day of my function. How will they gain access?
A: Just let the office know prior to your function who we can expect on the day and the Caretakers or Front Counter staff will let them in.

Q: Our wedding is during Village hours, will this be a problem for the tourist visitors to the Village and our privacy?
A: No not at all. Saturday is not a day we get a lot of visitors to the Village as most people have family commitments on that day. Should there be a few visitors in the grounds, special reserved areas are closed off from the public. Most tourists are quite delighted to catch a glimpse of a bride on her wedding day!

Q: How will our guests get in and will they have to pay an admittance fee?
A: The guests to the wedding are able to come into the Village through our main museum entrance and they will not be asked to pay an admittance fee however they are to remain in the Village only for the duration of the ceremony / reception.

Q: We would like our wedding ceremony outside of Village hours, will this be a problem?
A: Not at all. You can get married in the grounds of the Village at any time of the day or evening so long as it is arranged with the Office in advance.

Q: I am getting married in the Village at 4pm which is after Village hours, how will my guests gain access to the Village?
A:They will be shown through the personnel gate by the Village Caretaker which is next to the Main Museum and directed to the ceremony from there.

Q: If I hire a venue for my function, how long are we able to use the venue?
A: The Stanmore Hall is available to clients from 8am (earlier by arrangement) until 12 midnight. The Hotel is available from 10am until 12 midnight.

Q: If I hire the chapel for my wedding do I have an allotted time frame for my ceremony?
A: No. As the hirer of the venue it is yours and only yours for that day - you do not have to worry about going overtime!

Q: Can we bring our wedding vehicles into the Village?
A: Yes you can. We ask that the guests park their cars outside though.

Q: Are the venues air-conditioned.
A: No they are not. It is wise to consider the season before booking.

Q: Can I book tentatively.
A: We will hold a booking for 14 days before a $200 deposit is due to confirm the booking. If another client would like the day you have tentatively booked and you have not paid the deposit we will call you and confirm your booking. If however the 14 days have lapsed without a deposit being received and we are unable to contact you , we will give the space to the other client.

Q: Do you supply tablecloths, crockery and cutlery?
A: No we don’t.

Q: I need to get tablecloths. What size are the tables?
A:  The tables in the hall are 180cm long x 80cm wide. The cake table is 82 cm across the middle.  It is a good idea to allow for a drop of 20cm over the sides of the table. Our round tables for use at the Hotel are 150cm across the middle.

Q: Can I come in and decorate my venue the day before?
A: The Chapel can be decorated the day before with prior arrangement. The Hall however has a permanent booking on the third Friday of every month. Should your function fall on the following Saturday then you will not be able to decorate on the Friday. In all other cases there should be no problem providing there is not already a booking.

Q: I am hiring the hall. How big is the main area?
A: The main area of the hall, (not including the stage) is 9m wide x 16m long.

Q: I am hiring the hall / hotel and want to provide the drinks for my guests, will I need a licence?
A: You will not need a licence to give the drinks to your guests, however, if you sell them to you guests you will need a licence.

Q: This is the first place I have come to for wedding information, do you have any recommendations for other service providers, I am lost.

A: We have a number of business cards of service providers that previous clients used and recommended that you may use as a starting point for your own wedding.

Q: Can we throw confetti?
A: We do not allow the use of paper or foil confetti in the Village. We do allow the use of rice or rose petals outside the buildings.

Q: I am having an outdoor ceremony in the grounds, what if it rains?
A: In the unfortunate event that it rains the village has a number of building verandahs or even the Salvation Army Hall that can be used. If the Village Chapel is not already being used then the difference can be paid and that venue used.

Q: When do we have to have the account paid by?
A: An invoice will be sent out by our Treasurer.  All monies must be receipted at least 1 week prior to the function.

Q: I have seen the venues but would like to show my Mum, Sister, Cousin, Bridesmaid etc., Will we have to pay an admittance fee?
A: No, so long as you phone ahead and let us know you are coming. That way we can let the Front Counter staff know to expect you and your party.

Q: During photography are we able to have photos taken on machinery or in buildings?
A: You are able to have photographs taken anywhere that public access is allowed. We do not allow any visitors to the Historical Village to climb on any of the vehicles or machinery.

Q: ”We have a lot of friends and relatives coming to the wedding that need somewhere to stay.  Can you recommend anywhere?”
A: We are happy to recommend a the Caboolture M1 Motel located just off the Bruce Highway on Pumicestone road. The M1 Motel offers modern and spacious ground floor motel accommodation.
