Caboolture Historical Village’s first major event for 2015 is the celebration of Australia Day on Monday January 26th, and there are plenty of things on for all the family.  The Village opens at 9 am, with a special price for the day – $10 admission, and children under 15 years of age will be welcome for FREE.

There are many plans to help celebrate the day including:

  • Craft Stalls, Book Stall, Cards, Candles, AMRSQ Stall
  • Plant Stall
  • Art Stall
  • Food Stalls – including Sausage Sizzle, Damper, Pies and Sausage Rolls, Fudge,
  • Devonshire Teas and Sandwiches in the Boiling Billy
  • Lamingtons
  • Thai Food in the Bakery
  • Red Hall Café – Coffee, cold drinks, and Hot Chips
  • Collectable Toy Model Cars

The Long Yard Beef Company will be demonstrating the best cooking methods for BBQ Steak and will be selling steak sandwiches.  The Two Old Ducks will be cooking up a storm.

Entertainment includes Dave Reynolds (see below), The Uke Jukes, Kilties Scottish Band, Toad Races all day, displays by the Red Dragon Martial Arts Group, and the Percheron Horses.  The Blacksmith will be in operation.  The Pump Station and Saw Mill will be in action. will be in action as will the Sawmill.

The Grand Parade will be at 12.45 pm featuring vintage vehicles, Percheron Horses, the 11th Light Horse Troop, and various costumed folk,

Dave Reynolds will be presenting A Tribute to Slim Dusty at 11 am and 1.30 pm (included in admission price) with his Travelling Show Band.

Woodchop – three axemen, including Dan Castle, will be woodchopping near the Axemen’s Hall of Fame.

There will be a special Treasure Hunt with one lucky person winning $1000!  The first correct entry opened will be the winner.

The Village Clubs will be open and there will be much activity including re-enactments.

The Shuttlebus will travel from Morayfield Shopping Centre and Caboolture Train Station hourly.

The train also will be in action, doing its usual run around the village.  Buy a ticket at the front desk or at the station.
