GemFest at the Village
GemFest is a project of the Caboolture Gem Club, which commenced back in 1971 has an impressive record and still continues to offer members great opportunities to learn the skills to create wonderful jewellery and other items from precious stones. Club members were rewarded with many prizes at the recent Caboolture Show, and some of the winning entries are on view in the Visitor Information Centre at the Caboolture Historical Village.
Club members (and it is only $20 annual fee to be a member, with a one off joining fee of $20) can attend regular workshops at the Club Rooms within the Caboolture Historical Village to learn the skills of lapidary, faceting and grinding.
Gemfest is held annually and this year it is on July 11th at the Village, from 9 am where the entry fee is $5 for adults and children under 16 years admitted free, which includes the opportunity to explore all exhibits within the Village.
On the day, there will be stalls, tailgaters, displays and demonstrations throughout the village, with activities for the children which will include gem sieving, Kids Corner, lucky dips, raffles, and much more. It is a day for all the family.
If you are looking for a rewarding hobby,
Morning tea and lunch will be available, along with a BBQ and Sausage Sizzle.
