Jazz in June at the Village
It is Jazz in the Village in June! Rug up, bring your picnic chairs and perhaps a blanket to sit on to Caboolture Historical Village on Saturday June 20th. The performance will start at 3.30 pm in the Village Green beside Stanmore Hall, and finish at 5 pm.
We are thrilled to announce that we have booked the services of Jazz Australis and Elly Hoyt for the afternoon.
Jazz Australis has an impressive CV. From their website “The band is made up of highly experienced players who all began their musical adventure at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Since this time Jazz Australis has ventured into many musical situations and featured at a number of different festivals including the Noosa Jazz Festival and Brisbane Valley Jazz Festival. Jazz Australis has also performed at graduation ceremonies for Griffith University, and played for such high profile clients like Her Majesty The Queen, Reg Grundy, Sarina Russo, Kevin Rudd, Peter Beattie and the Premier’s Department, Government House. Jazz Australis has supported acts like Vince Jones, Monica Trapaga, Glen Shorrock and The Little River Band, and Vanessa Amorosi just to name a few. The current ensemble has recorded two albums, featured on numerous recordings, and is currently working on a Jazz Fusion project with popular international didgeridoo player Will Barton.”

From Elly Hoyt’s website:
“From the moment I first heard Elly sing, I knew she had that classic, indefinable thing that makes one a jazz singer. It’s not just a sound, or a choice of notes but a way of approaching a song that lets the listener know – this is the real thing.” – James Morrison – Australian Jazz Musician.
Tickets are $20 for adults, with children admitted free, but must remain under the control of parents. The Bar will be open. Come along for this very special event at the Village.
