Special Volunteers

July 7, 2015

At the Caboolture Historical Village there are many opportunities for volunteers, and they are valued very much.  At the moment, we are looking for some folk to fill special roles within the Village.

Screenprinter –  because of the many events that we hold in the Village we have a vacancy for someone who can assist with our many signs that we need to be done. It may be someone who already has the skills needed, or someone willing to learn. If you or someone you know can help please phone 5495 4581 and make an appointment with Trevor.

Tour Guides – this is a fun role within the Village.  We have quite a number of groups that visit the Village and request the services of a Tour Guide.  Our Tour Guides are expected to wear a costume (provided by the Village) and meet and greet the various groups and occasionally take the groups on a walking tour of the Village.  We do describe it as “like herding cats” as most groups are happy to wander in and out of the buildings at their own pace, but having a Tour Guide to chat with them occasionally as they wander around the 70 buildings, with the Tour Guide occasionally giving them specific information about the Village makes their visit more enjoyable.

We do have a training program for the Tour Guides and have two tablets with information about the buildings so you don’t have to remember a lot of detail about the Village and its exhibits.

If you like meeting and chatting with people, and would like to have a lot of fun, consider being one of our Tour Guides.

Tour Guides are needed for approximately 6 days a month – again phone for an appointment with Trevor on 5495 4581.  Come and join the fun!!

One of these men is a Tour Guide? Which one?
