Update – Gem Fest and Cheesemaking

July 9, 2015

Don’t forget it is Gem Fest at the Village this Saturday, July 11th.  It is $5 (under 16 years free)  to enter and enjoy the fun of GemFest!!!  There’ll be jewellery sales, displays, tailgaters, demonstrations, padidary, children’s fossicking, raffles and more.  Food and refreshments available.

The Caboolture Gem Club has a great record of success with many wins in the recent Caboolture Show – the winning entries are on display at the Village.   See the front page of Caboolture Herald – with President Paul Futcher on the cover!  Click here.

Do come along and speak with the members who are enjoying great success with their work and learn about how you can join the club and start learning to make your own items.  The Club operates within the Village, with its own club rooms and training rooms, so that members can learn  from the experienced senior members of the club.  Often special guests attend the village to help expand on the knowledge of members.

Children love the gem seiving – it is one of the many activities that school children have available to them during school excursions to the Village.

Cheesemaking – Beginners Italian Artisan Cheesemaking Workshop – two workshops on July 18th.  There is one spot available for the morning session at 10 am, and a few spots available for the afternoon session.  Come along and join the fun and learn how you can easily make your own cheeses.

High Tea at the Village – this is also on July 18th, at 2 pm.  More details here.  Our talented cafe folk have practiced and are looking forward to showing you the wonderful food that they are creating for the High Tea.  As well there will be a tour of the wonderful Glenowen Homestead.

Come and join the fun at the Village.
